Between and beyond disciplines
I've been collaborating with painter Claire Zakiewicz since 2021, exploring our shared interest in painting and musicking as embodied, entangled movement. From 2021-2025 we worked with the bass clarinettist Emily Suzanne Shapiro (who I've been playing with since 2013), regularly joined by dancer Petra Haller and since 2024 guitarist Georgia Morgan Turner. Since Emily's return to Canada in 2025, Claire, Georgia and I have been working as a trio. Other musicians who have joined us include Loz Speyer, Charlotte O'Keefe, Rachel Musson, Abe Mamet, Sofia Vaismann-Maturana and Anthony Osborne. Most of our sessions are documented by the brilliant photographer Chris Freeman, and recorded by me.
